Qatar Airways receives its first Airbus A330-300 aircraft

Qatar Airways has reportedly become the first airline in the Middle East to operate Airbus A330-300 aircraft after taking delivery of the first of 14 A330-300s it has on order from the European manufacturer.

The new aircraft is a bigger version of the carrier's current Airbus A330-200 aircraft and will add capacity to its Doha hub in Qatar. A spokesperson for Qatar Airways said that the A330-300 was an 'awesome' addition to its fleet and that it had the range to service all the airline's trunk routes.

The new aircraft has been fitted with General Electric CF6-80E1 engines and can hold 259 passengers in three classes. Qatar Airways has also fitted the aircraft with the latest video on-demand entertainment system, reports AMEInfo.
