Angry Air Deccan passengers at Chennai airport in India surrounded the airline's check-in desk after their flight was cancelled 90 minutes after it was due to take off.
The flight to New Delhi via Hyderabad was due to take off in the early morning of 26 October 2004 but was delayed by 90 minutes before being cancelled for 'operational reasons'. The 140 passengers then surrounded the airline's counter and broke a pane of glass in the ensuing melee.
Air Deccan gave no specific reason for the cancellation but said that passengers were free to travel on the same ticket until 29 October 2004, reports the Press Trust of India.
