A regional airport in Australia was shut down for nearly an hour on Monday (4 October) when a vibrating sex toy caused a security alert.

The adult toy had been put in a bin at Mackay Airport, where it began vibrating and humming. Officials declared an emergency and evacuated the terminal, delaying hundreds of travellers.

An unidentified passenger identified the contents of the package shortly before bomb experts were called in, Reuters reported.
