A Singapore Airlines flight from Frankfurt, Germany to JFK Airport in New York has been cleared to resume its journey after making an emergency landing in the UK when a bomb threat was received.

The Boeing 747-400 was diverted to Manchester and given a military escort after German authorities received a bomb threat aimed at the aircraft. The 292 passengers and 19 crew members were evacuated at Manchester airport and the aircraft was searched by police.

A police spokesperson said that the aircraft had been declared safe and all the passengers had been cleared. The aircraft has now resumed its journey to the US, reports PA News.
