Dutch low-cost carrier V-Bird bankrupt

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Dutch low-cost carrier V-Bird has been declared bankrupt and has halted all operations as of 7 October 2004.

The airline flew to 17 European destination from the former military airfield of Niederrhein in Weeze, the Netherlands. All passengers with reservations on V-Bird flights are urged to call the airline for more information.

V-Bird officials are expected to make a statement on the future of the company in the afternoon of 8 October 2004, reports Luchtzak Aviation.
