US aircraft manufacturer Boeing is in talks to sell 777 and 737 aircraft to Libya now that economic sanctions against the North African state have been lifted.
A spokesperson for Boeing said that Libyan Arab Airlines is interested in acquiring both 777 and 737 aircraft as it attempts to modernise its fleet. The spokesperson added that the airline is very familiar with the aircraft as it has kept its current versions in service throughout the sanctions period, reports Bloomberg News.
The number of aircraft that Libyan Arab Airlines is willing to buy is unknown but it is thought that the airline will be buying both Boeing and Airbus aircraft in the near future.
