Delta Air Lines becomes first US carrier to fly New York to Berlin route

Delta Air Lines is set to launch a new daily nonstop service between New York's JFK airport and Berlin, Germany starting on 2 May 2005.
The airline will be the first US carrier to offer a daily nonstop flight from New York to Berlin. A spokesperson for the airline said that the route will attract business users due to both cities' standings in the financial world and that the route is part of the airline's attempt to create and sustain profitable growth.
The route will be operated by a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft carrying up to 204 passengers, featuring economy and BusinessElite classes.
