Malaysian Airlines is set to spend MYR257m in preparation for the delivery of its eight new Airbus A380 aircraft.

The first A380 is expected in early 2007 with the others following throughout the rest of 2007 and 2008. The airline must build a huge new hangar at a cost of MYR200m to house the aircraft's 80-metre wingspan along with MYR57m on new A380 flight simulators.

The A380 will become the world's largest passenger aircraft when the first aircraft rolls off the Airbus production line in 2006 with a passenger capacity of 555, reports The Associated Press.
