The first combined results of the new Air France/KLM alliance are set to show that it has achieved a first quarter operating and net profit according to analysts.
A Reuters poll of five top analysts determined that the market expects the alliance to make an operating profit before aircraft sales of EUR170m, with net profit at EUR90m for the first quarter of 2004.
The predictions do not include how Air France will amortise the "badwill" that occurred when Air France bought KLM for under the shareholders' value to form the alliance. It is thought that the badwill could add EUR30-60m to the airline's bottom line, reports Reuters.
