Kenya Airways has become the first foreign company to cross-list on Tanzania's Dar es Salaam stock exchange (DSE).
Tanzania's financial authorities gave the airline permission to be listed after almost a year on the waiting list. Kenya Airways will now be listed in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya from 1 October 2004.
The airline is one of only a few African carriers that is profitable and has been positioning itself as a regional airline. In 2003/04 the airline made a KES1.3bn net profit, more than triple the previous year, reports Reuters.
