AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The contract for the hydraulic subsystem to be installed on Boeing's new 7E7 Dreamliner aircraft has been awarded to Parker Hannifin Corporation. The contract has an estimated value, including spares and repair services, of USD1bn.
Delta Air Lines has warned customers flying to and from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to expect delays due to Tropical Storm Jeanne. Average delays were put at 30-60 minutes on 27 September 2004 and passengers are being urged to check www.delta.com and their local airport's website for updated information.
America West Airlines has announced that from 1 October 2004 all passengers must obtain a boarding pass before making their way to the airport gate areas. The move will bring the carrier into line with Transportation Security Administration guidelines calling for the measure to be in place by mid-October 2004.
