Baggage handlers at London's Gatwick Airport are holding a second 24-hour strike over pay conditions and the suspension of a union official.
Over 600 employees at the airport who work for handling firm Servisair stopped work at 0300 local time on 30 September 2004. The company said that it had contingency plans in place so that flights operated by airlines including easyJet, Ryanair, Delta Air Lines, Continental Airlines and Emirates are not disrupted.
A spokesperson for Gatwick Airport said that a similar strike on 25 September 2004 did not affect flights. Unions say that two more 24-hour strikes are planned for 6 and 8 October 2004, reports The Associated Press.
