Continental Airlines has announced that it is to impose new fees on tickets bought at US airport counters and reservation centres in an attempt to encourage online bookings.
From now on the airline will add an extra USD5 per ticket bought through one of its reservation centres and USD10 if bought at an airport counter.
Continental Airlines hopes the charge will help it cut costs by encouraging people to book online, thus reducing the need for sales staff and large costly call centres, reports Reuters.
