Norwegian Air Shuttle reports passenger numbers up by 53% in March 2005

Norwegian low-fare airline Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) reported on Tuesday (12 April) that it transported a total of 207,795 passengers in March 2005, an increase of 53% as compared to 135,694 passengers in March 2004.

The total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 74%, while the cabin factor increased by 10 percentage points to 72%. Capacity (ASK) increased by 61%.

The domestic passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 36% and capacity (ASK) by 13%. The international passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 154% and capacity (ASK) by 129%.

The domestic cabin factor increased to 73% from 61% in March 2004, while the international cabin factor increased to 71% from 64%.

Norwegian estimated a yield of some NOK0.81 per RPK in March 2005.
