Vietnam Airlines and Vietcombank have formed a cooperation with American Express to issue an international credit card.
In Vietnam credit cards are not popular and most transactions are in cash. The targets of the Golden Lotus card are business people and frequent flyers with Vietnam Airlines, said a spokesperson for Vietcombank.
As well as the benefits of American Express card holders, Golden Lotus customers will enjoy benefits from the national carrier, such as frequent flyer programmes, said the spokesperson.
