Copa Airline places order for Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft

Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Copa Airline have said that the Panama-based airline has placed an order for up to 15 additional Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
Copa Airline reportedly operates an all-Boeing fleet and five of the aircraft are firm orders. The deliveries are set to begin in 2007 and continue through to 2009. In total the firm orders and purchase rights, if exercised, have been valued at about USD750m.
Copa reportedly now operates 21 Next-Generation 737s, and has three remaining to be delivered from prior orders. The airline's fleet of 737-700/800s will increase to 29 with the new firm order aircraft included.
