China Southern Airlines Co has reported a net loss of CNY48m (about USD5.8m) for 2004.
The airline said that the increasing cost of fuel offset a growth in traffic. The net loss was however lower than the CNY358m posted for 2003, The Associated Press reported. In 2003 the airline experienced the effects of the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak.
China Southern also said that its revenue increased by 37% to CNY24.0bn, from CNY17.0bn in the previous year.
