Police in Indonesia said on Tuesday (5 April) that two crew members of the country's national carrier Garuda are being questioned in connection with the murder of prominent human rights activist Munir.

Munir died suddenly on board a Garuda flight to Amsterdam last year. An autopsy found that he was poisoned with arsenic.

Investigators are questioning Garuda pantry steward Oedi Irianto and stewardess Yeti Susmiarti. Indonesian police said that they were summoned as suspects but did not reveal their alleged roles.

In March Indonesian police arrested Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto, a Garuda pilot assigned as an aviation security officer on the flight. He was charged with "facilitating" the crime.

Also on Tuesday a government fact-finding team urged police to question four other Garuda employees and two intelligence agents.
