Boeing delivers 70 aircraft in first quarter

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co said on Tuesday (5 April) that it delivered 70 commercial aircraft in the first quarter of 2005.
The number of deliveries is six fewer than in the same period of 2004 and behind the average pace the company needs to meet its 2005 target. Boeing now needs to average over 83 deliveries in the remaining three quarters to reach its projected total of 320 for the year.
In the quarter, Boeing delivered 54 of its single-aisle 737, as well as eight widebody 777s, three 747s, three 717s and one 757 and 767 each, reported The Associated Press.
