SKF selected bearings and components supplier for Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 aircraft engine

Swedish rolling bearings and seals manufacturer SKF announced on Friday (8 April) that it had been selected prime supplier of main shaft bearings and related components for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 aircraft engine.
The components will be supplied by SKF's United Kingdom unit SKF Aeroengine Bearings UK, which already supplies bearings for the Trent 500, Trent 700 and Trent 800 engines.
SKF is also partner with Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries to supply the compressor section of the Trent 1000.
The Trent 1000 engines will be used on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
