Finnair Plc reports 6-month operating profit of EUR54.0m

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Finnish airline Finnair Plc reported on Tuesday (16 August) an operating profit of EUR54.0m on turnover of EUR921.3m for the financial period January-June 2005.
Both operating profit and turnover for the six-month period increased, respectively from EUR2.3m and EUR821.5m, as compared to the corresponding period in 2004.
Operating profit in the quarter April-June 2005 amounted to EUR35.3m on turnover of EUR471.9m.
Finnair said that its traffic grew by 8.4% on the previous year, while passenger load factor rose one percentage point to 70.4%.
