Delta announces route to Santo Domingo on Hispaniola

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is to launch a service between Atlanta, US and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on 1 December 2005.
According to the airline, the service to the Caribbean nation on the island of Hispaniola makes it four destinations for Delta in the Dominican Republic, with daily flights to Santo Domingo from New York-JFK and now Atlanta, plus daily flights from Atlanta to Punta Cana and New York-JFK to Santiago.
Delta said that it will begin its new Santo Domingo service from Atlanta with Boeing 767-300 aircraft, while some of the travel for certain itineraries may be with Delta Connection carrier Chautauqua.
