British Airways flights could be disrupted again if the dispute at its in-flight food supplier Gate Gourmet is not resolved, according to the Transport & General Workers' Union.

The union represents the 670 Gate Gourmet workers who were dismissed by the company two weeks ago.

In an interview with BBC radio on Monday morning (22 August) the general secretary of the union said that British Airways could be "severely affected" unless it helped to resolve the situation. The union is calling for all 670 employees to be reinstated.

Meanwhile Gate Gourmet has set a deadline of 1700 BST on Tuesday (23 August) to reach an agreement with British Airways on new contract terms and prices. If no deal is made the company has said it will go into administration.

As of Monday Gate Gourmet is again providing hot meals for British Airways' long-haul flights.
