Air Canada's customer loyalty scheme reports Q2 profit of CAD25.4m

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Air Canada's customer loyalty points programme, Aeroplan Limited Partnership, made a profit of CAD25.4m in the second quarter of this year.
This is down 21% from CAD32m a year ago but the figure for the second quarter of 2004 included CAD17m of non-recurring items, including CAD13.3m received as a call centre management fee.
Second quarter revenue increased from CAD141.1m to CAD157.1m.
The frequent flyer scheme was spun off from Air Canada in June this year and is owned by Aeroplan Income Fund and the airline's parent company, ACE Aviation Holdings Inc.
