The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded Delta Connection carrier Comair the Diamond Award for excellence in aviation maintenance training for the eleventh consecutive year.
More than 70% of Comair's aviation maintenance technicians (AMT) have completed the continuous training required to participate in the FAA's programme and, in total, the Comair AMTs have completed nearly 14,000 hours of safety compliance and technical training.
According to the requirements, at least 25% of an airline's eligible maintenance technicians must pass specialised, ongoing training during a 12-month period for it to qualify for the FAA Diamond Award.
