LAN Airlines reports 16% decline in profit for Q2

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Chilean airline LAN Airlines has reported increased revenue but a fall in profit for the second quarter of 2005.
Revenue for April-June 2005 totalled USD570.4m, up 23% compared to the same period last year. Second quarter profit declined by 16% from USD31.5m to USD26.6m due to higher fuel costs resulting from the rise in oil prices.
