Almost a week after a technical problem with the baggage sorting system at Vienna airport left travellers without their luggage, a technical problem which resulted in flight delays on Thursday (4 August) was discovered with the airport's air traffic control system.

The most recent delays appear to have been caused by a glitch in the data sharing between Vienna and Budapest airports resulting in air traffic control officials being forced to file flight plans manually until the computer malfunction could be rectified, revealed an airport spokesman. The malfunction posed no danger to arriving and departing flights, the spokesman said.

It was only on Saturday (30 July) that a software problem with a computerised baggage sorting system at the airport resulted in delays of up to four hours for passengers who were trying to collect luggage and board connecting flights.
