Italian unions representing airline and railway workers have decided to stage a strike on Thursday and Friday (10-11 February) to protest against what they claim are dangerous working conditions.
Ground staff at airports and cabin crews at Italian national carrier Alitalia have announced a four-hour strike starting 1230 local time (1130 GMT) on Thursday (10 February). Alitalia has already announced that it will cancel 141 flights, most of them international.
Air transport authorities disagree with the cabin crew and ground staff unions, which argue that longer working hours compromise safety, reported Reuters.
