Russian airlines carried 34m passengers in 2004 - report

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Russian airlines carried about 34 million passengers in 2004, an increase of 15% compared with 2003, the Russian Transport Ministry said on Wednesday (9 February).
National carrier Aeroflot and domestic airlines Sibir and Pulkovo together carried 40% of all passengers, the ministry said.
The Russian airline sector, with some 200 regional airlines, is currently undergoing consolidation.
