Northwest announces nonstop service between Grand Rapids and Washington DC

Northwest Airlines (Nasdaq: NWAC) announced on Friday (11 February) that it will begin offering nonstop service between Grand Rapids' Gerald R. Ford International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, commencing 2 May 2005.
The new service will be operated by Northwest Airlink partner Mesaba Airlines using a 69-seat Avro RJ85 regional jet (ARJ), with 16 seats in first class and 53 seats in coach class.
Travellers holding tickets for travel on 2 May or later on connecting itineraries from Grand Rapids to Washington will be able to change to Northwest's new nonstop service without paying an administrative change fee, provided the changes are made by 31 March 2005, the airline said.
No ticket pricing details were disclosed.
