The Austrian Airlines Group has reported lower passenger traffic for January year-on-year.

According to the company, passenger figures fell by 1.8% in January 2005, as compared to January 2004. The airline attributed the decrease to lower seasonal demand and an overcapacity on the European market, Reuters reported.

Austrian Airlines Group, consisting of Austrian, Lauda Air and Austrian Arrows, reportedly transported 598,403 passengers in January. The group also said that the passenger load factor was down 4.3 percentage points to 66.8% in January.
