Northwest asks for approval for India flights

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Northwest Airlines said on Monday (21 February) that it has applied to the US Department of Transportation for broad authority to serve India.

Northwest said it hopes to launch flights from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport to Bangalore, India, via Amsterdam, in October 2005, pending the government approval.
