ATA Airlines announces layoffs, new CEO

Bankrupt US carrier ATA Airlines has revealed plans to make 339 workers redundant in Indianapolis and South Bend by 3 April 2005.

The airline will lay off 267 employees in Indianapolis and 72 mechanics, customer service agents and other workers in South Bend.

ATA Airlines has also announced the appointment of John G. Denison as its chief executive officer. Denison, who joined the airline on 20 January this year, will continue to act as co-chief restructuring officer.
