An American Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport on Sunday (27 February) due to smoke in the cabin.

The flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles was diverted about 20 minutes after taking off after passengers reported smelling smoke.

The Boeing 757 made a safe landing in Orlando and the 187 passengers and six crew members on board were uninjured. A spokesperson for the airline said that there was a haze in the cabin but no fire. No announcement was made on the source of the smoke.

A replacement aircraft was sent to Orlando to allow the passengers to continue their journey.
