New El Al CEO appointed

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Haim Romano, deputy chief executive officer at Israeli mobile phone operator Partner Communications, is to become the new CEO of El Al Israel Airlines.
Partner said on Thursday (3 February) Romano will remain in his post until 1 April 2005 and then he will replace Amos Shapira as CEO of Israel's national carrier.
El Al said in a statement that the nomination of Romano by new El Al Chairman Izzy Borovich will be put to the board of directors in the coming days for final approval, which is expected, reported Reuters.
