United Airlines' mechanics union has reportedly criticised the bankrupt airline's chief executive for threatening to take them to court if they do not agree to pay concessions.
On Tuesday (1 February) United Airlines CEO Glenn Tilton reportedly said in a telephone message to employees that if the airline could not reach agreements on cost savings with unions representing the mechanics and machinists it would "go to trial".
However, Tilton's call only increased the tensions and distrust of union members towards UAL Corp management, said the national director of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA).
