AWAir, a unit of Malaysian airline AirAsia, has cancelled plans for a route between Indonesia and Singapore after failing to receive landing rights.

Last month AWAir reportedly ended up cancelling the maiden flight to Singapore because CAAS, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, rejected its application for landing rights. According to the regulator the airline had not filed the proper documents to receive the rights. Today (4 February) AWAir said that it would cancel the plans for flying to Singapore as it had been waiting for two weeks after filing additional documents for its application as requested by the regulator, Reuters reported.

The first application was reportedly filed on 15 December 2004.
