Delta Air Lines' new fare structure may not be perfect, but it was needed to win back the trust of customers, according to Delta's CEO Gerald Grinstein.
Grinstein reportedly told the Georgia Chamber of Commerce that the airline will do what it takes to survive and that it is not past the problems yet. Grinstein also said that half of Wall Street has proclaimed the airline management geniuses while the other half thinks they are dumb, The Associated Press reported.
The fare changes, which include price cuts and abandoning the need to stay a Saturday night, are also aimed at business travellers.
