China Southern Airlines (NYSE:ZNH) has said that it is continuing its Boeing 747 freight airlift of emergency medical supplies to Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

A 747-400 departed from Beijing Capital Airport today (14 January) for Medan, Indonesia, set to continue to Colombo, Sri Lanka. The emergency airlift reportedly includes 75 tons of food, medicine, tents and electric generators.

Li Kun, the executive vice president of China Southern Airlines, has said that just because Asia's tsunami happened nearly three weeks ago, does not mean that it has magically gone away. The 747-400 emergency airlift is reportedly the fifth such cargo flight conducted by China Southern after the disaster.
