A general strike by pilots at JAT Airways, the Serbian national airline, has been suspended pending the results of planned talks with government representatives.

The strike was launched last week by the pilots who are demanding two months' worth of unpaid wages as well as the management of JAT being replaced. The strike, which grounded all domestic and international services, has led to chaos in Serbia-Montenegro's air traffic as well as losses for the airline, The Associated Press reported.

The pilots have said that they may resume the strike if the talks do not end in an agreement, according to the Tanjug news service.
