Officials at San Francisco International Airport have said that the rules for law enforcement exercises will be tightened after firefighters left behind three mock grenades and a replica handgun during a recent training exercise.
The simulated weapons were found by a janitor on Wednesday (19 January) on the floor of a locked room in Terminal 2, which has been closed to the public since the new international terminal opened in late 2000, and which has been used as a training ground for various law enforcement agencies. There was no security risk posed by the simulated weapons, said an airport spokesperson.
