India plans to sell stakes in airlines

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
India has plans to sell 10% of Air-India Ltd to help pay for the airline's fleet expansion, according to the Indian aviation minister Praful Patel.
The sale could be carried out as early as next year and would also include the sale of a 10% stake in Indian Airlines Ltd, reported the Times of India. According to the minister, the plan is to complete the sale in the year to March 2006.
