British Airways is holding talks with Chinese authorities over the possibility of starting flights between London and Shanghai this summer.
Shanghai's Pudong Airport is due to open a second runway, and British Airways wants to secure take-off and landing slots for flights between the city and London's Heathrow Airport, said an airline spokesperson.
The airline hopes to operate the service five times a week with Boeing 777 aircraft, reported The Associated Press.
