Mesa Air reports three-fold increase in quarterly profit

US regional airline group Mesa Air Group has reported a three-fold increase in profit for the latest quarter.
Mesa Air reported that its net income for the first fiscal quarter, ending 31 December 2004, increased to USD13.9m from USD4.1m in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. The profit was boosted by an increase in traffic, The Associated Press reported.
The airline group is based in Phoenix and operates regional routes for America West, United Airlines and US Airways.
