SkyWest Airlines Inc (NasdaqNM: SKYW) and Continental Airlines have made a joint decision to end the agreement under which SkyWest operates turboprop flights from Houston, Texas as a Continental Connection carrier.

According to the two airlines, the decision was a result of Continental's plans to use larger aircraft and SkyWest's decision that such flights did not meet with its financial objectives.

SkyWest intends to phase out the Continental Connection turboprop flying from March to June this year. The airline said that the Continental Connection turboprop services represented approximately 1.5% of SkyWest's annual available seat miles for 2004 and less than 1% of SkyWest's annual operating income for the year.
