Singapore Airlines announces Q3 financial results

Singapore Airlines Ltd has announced a 26% rise in earnings for its third quarter ending 31 December 2004.
The airline earned SGD475.6m net profit in its third quarter, compared to SGD378m in the same period of 2003, when Asian airlines were recovering from the effects of the SARS crisis. The result includes a one-off gain of SGD122.4m from the sale of aircraft.
In the October-December period, the carrier flew 4.2 million passengers, up 8.4% compared to the same period a year ago, and quarterly sales reached a record SGD3.2bn.
The group declined to provide a full-year profit outlook, reported Reuters.
