The Singapore Airlines Group has said that it will make a donation of USD300,000 to the Red Cross Tidal Waves Asia Relief Fund to support the operation underway to assist those affected by the earthquake and tsunami damage across the region.

The airline also said that it has been in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), as well as Red Cross in Singapore, to offer freight of relief supplies to the affected areas served by Singapore Airlines. The first shipments of aid from the MFA were carried on Singapore Airlines flights from Singapore to Thailand and Sri Lanka on 29 December.

Singapore Airlines Cargo is reportedly working with organisations around the world to transport emergency relief supplies into affected areas from as far as Europe and the USA on Singapore Airlines Cargo services.
