An aircraft belonging to Portugal's TAP airline was evacuated before take-off on Saturday night (9 July) to be searched by a bomb squad.

The flight, which was due to take off from Lisbon for London, UK, was reportedly evacuated overnight to allow a bomb squad to search it. No bomb was found, police said.

The aircraft was apparently searched because the commander of the flight was suspicious of three Albanian passengers. According to Reuters, the three were later arrested for carrying false passports.
