The cause of an Iranian aircraft accident that killed three people was human error, according to the Iranian aviation authority.

The authorities said that human error caused the Saha Airlines Boeing 707 to skid off the runway in the capital on 20 April. The aircraft had departed from Kish island and skidded off the runway into a river at the Mehrabad airport in Tehran.

An investigation found that the flight crew did not observe a safe speed for landing, The Associated Press reported. The aircraft was carrying 157 passengers and 16 crew.
