American Airlines and Philippine Airlines have launched interline electronic ticketing (IET), bringing the number of domestic and international airlines providing IET in cooperation with American to 28.

According to the airlines, the cooperation means that travellers may use a single electronic ticket (e-ticket) when their itineraries include travel on American Airlines and Philippine Airlines. The interline e-tickets can be issued by both airlines through reservation centres and at airport locations, ticket offices and travel agencies.

American Airlines has said that nearly 95% of its customers travel on electronic tickets.
